Kendra + Matthias met while they were both obtaining their PhD's at the University of New Mexico and sparks flew. The couple currently resides in the UK and jetted back to Kendra's home in New Mexico to say their I do's. Matthias brought his family and closest friends all the way from Germany to partake in the celebration and experience the land of enchantment firsthand. The romantic and simple ceremony took place at the home of Kendra's parents in the beautiful Sandia Park. We watched the sunrise over the mountains as Kendra and her closest girlfriends helped Kendra into her beautiful lace strapless dress. Kendra wore stunning traditional pearls and striking red heels as she walked down the path to her husband to be carrying a bouquet of lavender from Los Poblanos and garden roses put together by Shannon Loves Flowers. Following the ceremony guests enjoyed the view off the back porch while snacking on a yummy breakfast of danishes and bagels.
It is customary in Germany to have a morning ceremony and a later evening reception. Guests joined back up with Kendra and Matthias at Hotel Andaluz and were ready to party. Matthais had switched to a black tux donning a festive bowtie in the colors of his home country of Germany. Several toasts were given in the couples honor including Matthias's father who ended his speech by having everyone chant "Prost!" three times, which of course means Cheers! in English. Everyone laughed and celebrated the couple on the dance floor partaking in dancing to everything from the German waltz to the electric slide. Congratulations Kendra + Matthias!
