Dayna + Michael | Wedding at La Fonda on the Plaza in Santa Fe, NM

Dayna and Michael met in the Bay Area in California while they were both working for Teach for America. Dayna worked as a social worker and now a school director, and Michael works for the mayors office in New York. Both of them give back, fight for people's rights and are really involved in their community. And for two people who give so much to others, they deserved a beautiful wedding day. And that's exactly what they got.

Dayna and Michael had decided on a destination wedding, and since Michael's mom lives in Santa Fe they figured, why not La Fonda?  So they traveled over with their closest friends and family from NYC.

Dayna wore a delicate and beautiful beaded gown, and a flower crown made of light pink roses. They had a stunning jewish ceremony under a Chuppah decorated with roses and  hydrangeas. Instead of the seven blessings normally prayed at weddings, they asked their loved ones to give short speeches. These people, who all had important roles in their life, spoke about love and life before Dayna and Michael shared their first kiss as husband and wife.

They decided that their wedding should be more about being relaxed and having fun with their friends, and not about stiff traditions. So after their ceremony they gathered their wedding guests and followed the mariachi band to parade around the plaza. They also decided against a bridal party, and since they love karaoke , they opted to sing a song instead of having a first dance during the reception.  It was a sentimental and beautiful day full of love and laughter and we wish Dayna and Michael the very best!
