There is no place in the world like White Sands and it is one of the things that makes New Mexico truly unique. Being that Brittany was born and raised in New Mexico and competes in the Miss USA pageants, she has a deep love for this amazing state and the rich culture that comes with it. The idea to do an Aztec inspired theme came from the fact that the Aztec tribes came from Mexico, and New Mexico's culture is deeply infused with Indian, Mexican and Spanish traditions. Wanting to keep the photoshoot trendy as well, and seeing that the tribal and Indian inspired decor has taken this country by storm it couldn't have been a more perfect trend to incorporate. The color palette of turquoise and navy was inspired by the large blue sky that contrasts with the stark white sands and the turquoise jewelry that New Mexico is so known for. Dessert succulents and cacti decorated the table and geometric gold votives added to the romance of the shoot. I later found out that Brittany' favorite movie growing up was Pocahontas, who she was a spitting image for as she walked through the sand holding Randy's hand. Everything came together perfectly to create the most romantic of sunset photoshoots in one of the most unique locations in the world.
